Sixth step: Planning
In my case we're speaking about a website. So... I was sitting in my room. All quiet. Just the neighbours don't know how to behave... And with my extreme talent in drawing, I'm making sketches about the site. They basically look like a cartoon, but I can say this is how I encrypt it. Noone can make use of it, just me!
Also, I need to plan all the features and functions of the site, and the site map. After that I will have to create the database structure plan the way I don't have to mess with it after every adjustment to the site.
Another necessary thing I did is to make a schedule for all of my tasks, which can be very useful to plan the timelines and milestones of my project.
I have to make a marketing plan as well, which I have mentioned, but that one can wait.
Of course last by not least the business plan. That will be hell a lot of fun, I must say…
Seventh step: Execution
So my plans are complete, I know exactly what I’m doing! (heh yeah.. maybe not)
This is the real working and sweating part. I need to develop the website. I’m not an experienced developer, but enthusiasm beats everything! So building the site… I decided to do the server side programming with C#, so that will be a challenge for me :) Oh and the design. That’s my favourite part! That’s when the artist comes out of me! Just like when drawing the sketches of the site :) No, actually I’m better at design with photoshop and stuff, than bare-hand drawing.
After the site is done, I have to hire someone to do develop the mobile application(s). Yes! there will be some apps here!
Eighth step: Marketing
After everything is in place, and ready to be thrown out to the web, I need to execute the carefully-planned go-live strategy. This will be a kind of website, which if not used by thousands in the first week, it’s doomed. So until I have a very solid belief that my marketing system will do the job, I can’t launch the website.
Ninth step: Growth
It’s easy: Grow! :)
I hope you enjoyed this little article, I will write about each step in more detail of course when I get to them.
Live and keep smilin’!
